As I said earlier, there are many drivers that it did not install and consequently I can not use this OS I can not access the internet, is still very much at the mercy of the hardware vendors for all the "bits" in your PC getting the AMD64 drivers written tested and certified if they are to ship with the OS.

Configured Samba and was able to test it within the same PC just by using the smbclient //servername/service -U command and the smbstatus. I was able to browse the net, FTP and telneted out. Please understand, yes, I know telnet and ftp is not safe and open to eaves droppers but that is not my concern right now.

As I have said this is a weird problem - why can I transfer files through the network but yet not access the internet properly? You say transfer files through the network, is that betwen computers on your home network or between a PC at home and another Internect connected PC several miles away?

IE cannot access webpage
